Donald Trump Reacts to ‘Missing’ Scientist Theories: ‘Hope It’s Random’

Donald Trump is weighing in on the growing speculation surrounding the mysterious deaths and disappearances of scientists. Moreover, the president has recently assured that the administration is looking into the cases and hopes that the cases are not connected.

Donald Trump has broken his silence on the mysterious disappearance and deaths of a group of scientists, following White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s previous statement on the matter.

During a media briefing at the White House on April 15, Leavitt said she will speak to “relevant agencies” about the potential investigation into the disappearance. She further stated, “I will certainly do that, and we’ll get you an answer. If true, of course, that’s definitely something I think this government and administration would deem worth looking into. So let me do that for you.”

The following day, Trump provided an update, addressing whether the scientists’ disappearances are connected to their having access to classified nuclear programs. “Well, I hope it’s random, but we’re going to know in the next week and a half,” the president said. He then shared, “I just left a meeting on that subject,” calling it “pretty serious stuff.” Noting that some of the scientists “were very important people,” Trump assured, “We’ll probably have a pretty good answer over the next week,” as the administration looks into it.

On April 16, Fox News reported that at least 10 scientists had either disappeared or died under mysterious circumstances since 2023. They include NASA researchers, military officials, university professors, and more. The reports have raised questions on whether the cases are linked to the scientists having access to classified information.

Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett and other Congress members have rallied for officials to launch an investigation to look into any potential connection among the series of cases. Speaking with the Daily Mail in March, Burchett said, “The numbers seem very high in these certain areas of research. I think we’d better be paying attention, and I don’t think we should trust our government.”
