According to a source, Tiger Woods is looking forward to returning to golf, and that’s what is keeping him motivated to continue with the treatment. They revealed that he’s receiving support both professionally and personally, which is making things easier as he undergoes treatment. Earlier this month, Woods stated on social media, announcing that he is stepping away from the sport to prioritize his health.
Tiger Woods hopes to return to golf, sources suggest
A source recently shared an update on Tiger Woods’ thoughts on returning to golf with PEOPLE after he announced a hiatus earlier this month. The source said, “He knows he needs to beat his issues and also deal with the pain from not only playing golf but also from his regular fitness schedule. People around him are supporting him, both personally and professionally. All of this is helping him deal with it enough to get through it.”
Another source claimed that the spark for golf is still very much alive in Woods, but he has slowed down a bit due to age and injuries. However, he looks forward to getting better in all aspects of life and returning to the sport.
Recently, Woods also turned down the opportunity to lead the US team at the 2027 Ryder Cup. The PGA of America further wrote in a statement, “We commend Tiger for prioritizing his long-term health and deeply respect the courage it takes to make such a personal decision.”
In the statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Woods also revealed that he’s taking a break from the sport to focus on his health and seek treatment. “This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery,” he elaborated. He mentioned that he looks forward to making a comeback “healthier,” “stronger,” and “more focused,” both personally and professionally.
