Joe Exotic, the self-described “gay, gun-carrying, redneck with a mullet” on Tiger King, is currently living in solitary confinement at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Fort Worth in Texas. Apparently, his social media posts ticked off the wrong people. And now, Joe has no one to talk to but himself. Here’s what we know.
Is the Netflix star being punished in prison?

Much to his dismay, Joe is still in jail. In 2019, he received a 22-year sentence for his role in the murder-for-hire plot against Carole Baskin. He also received multiple wildlife-related charges, including violations of the Lacey Act and Endangered Species Act. Even still, a judge later resentenced him to 21 years.
According to TMZ, however, Joe’s day-to-day life behind bars just took a turn for the worse. This outlet recently spoke with his attorney, Peter Ticktin. And as Peter revealed, Joe is now in solitary confinement. And he has been there since last week.
Apparently, “The prison decided not to like his posts.” Therefore, they disciplined him pretty hard. That said, it wasn’t clear which post in particular ticked off his prison staff. It could have even been a combined effort on behalf of his Instagram account’s showings as a whole, which someone shares on his behalf.
To explain, Joe’s posts range from pardon demands to his teased presidential run once released. Nevertheless, his attorney stressed, Joe will hopefully exit solitary confinement within the next 15 days. But there are no guarantees.
Meanwhile, Peter is still trying to spring Joe out of prison. As he noted, “There are a lot of innocent people in the prison system who should not be there. I do say when the shoe fits … but it doesn’t in this case at all.”
Tiger King is streaming on Netflix.
TELL US – DOES JOE DESERVE THIS? WHICH POST, IF YOU HAD TO GUESS, ANGERED HIS PRISON’S STAFF? OR, WAS IT ALL OF THEM?
