Markwayne Mullin Calls Chuck Schumer ‘Lying S***bag’ for a Reason

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin launched a personal attack on Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. During a Fox News interview, he called him a “lying s***bag politician” after the New York Democrat claimed “nobody respects” ICE agents on the Senate floor.

The clash happened as Senate Republicans advanced legislation to provide $140 billion in DHS funding, prompting Democratic pushback over a lack of agency guardrails. The impasse has fueled a partial government shutdown now in its 68th day.

Markwayne Mullin, who replaced Kristi Noem last month, directed his anger at Chuck Schumer‘s recent remarks dismissing ICE and Customs and Border Protection. “Chuck Schumer, no one respects you. The definition of a lying scumbag politician, that is you. You would be the definition if you Googled you right now,” the former MMA fighter said. President Donald Trump also condemned Schumer’s comments on Truth Social, calling them “egregious, incorrect, unpatriotic, and dangerous” and demanding an immediate apology.

Mullin accused Schumer of supporting “open borders” and added, “For you to say that is so disrespectful to the law enforcement that is out there protecting you. Because he has a detail with him. How about he walks around these city streets without a detail. I wonder how safe he would feel.”

Republicans are seeking to pass the DHS fund measure through reconciliation, avoiding the need for Democratic votes. Schumer did not back down stating on X (formerly Twitter) Republicans will be “accountable in November.”

After all, recent polling reflects declining public support for ICE. A Fox News poll from late February and early March found 58 percent of voters disapprove of the agency, up from 51 percent in September, while a PBS News/NPR/Marist poll recorded six in ten Americans expressing disapproval.
