Travis Barker is ready to share first-hand knowledge of his near-death experience. The Blink-182 drummer will do so as part of a new documentary called Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear. The primary focus will be on the plane crash he suffered through in 2008 and what he endured after that.
It will feature Travis’ collaborators and loved ones, as well as others in the industry. Travis was one of the lucky ones who managed to live to tell the tale.

When you go through what Travis did in 2008, it’s sure to leave you with long-term scars both physically and mentally. Travis is opening up about that in the movie. Following a show, he was getting set to fly to a new location when the plane swayed out of control and crashed into an airport boundary fence in South Carolina. Both pilots died in the crash form smoke inhalation. Travis suffered third-degree burns on over 60% of his body. He’d require weeks of rehabilitation with dozens of surgeries and some blood transfusions.
According to the synopsis revealed by Billboard, the documentary will reveal “a complex man battling pain, grief and the thin line between survival and surrender.” At Hulu’s Get Real event this week, the drummer added that it would be an “unfiltered look at my journey after a life-changing experience.” This has been in the works for 10 years.
Over the last 10 years Travis has undergone a lot in his personal life. Among them was postponing a tour with Blink-182 in 2023 to tend to an “urgent family matter.” That same year, he discussed how far he’s come with his fear of flying. He thanked his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, for helping him conquer that so he could tour again.
Charles Monroe Still Jr. and Chris Baker died in the crash. Adam Goldstein and Travis managed to get out alive, but the former died of an accidental overdose the following year. Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear premieres on Hulu this summer.
