Jennifer Hegseth sported a dusky pink one-piece at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. It was alleged to be from Shein and priced somewhere around $42. This sparked a massive debate online over cost-effective fashion choices, environmental impact, politics, and more.
Ella Devi, a socialist and an influencer, also took to X (formerly Twitter) to point out that the dress was not from the China-based shopping website but from Temu. She wrote, “Pete Hegseth’s wife wore a dress from Temu to the white house correspondents’ dinner (i’m not joking).”
Devi earlier revealed why she was interested in the fashion choices of a political figure’s wife. She said, “I talk a lot [on ‘X’] about the sartorial [fashion] choices of right-wing women.”
As the debate around it continues to grow, several people took to social media to share their mixed reactions to Hegseth’s dress. One user wrote, “She looks amazing. I thought the left was about ‘eating the rich?’ Now you want to dunk on someone who didn’t waste $10,000 on a dress they will only ever wear once?” Another wrote, “Be proud, Jennifer Hegseth. Americans love you and your pretty dress. Haters are insecure losers.”
