Donald Trump‘s ex-counselor, Alina Habba, faced a barrage of questions on “The View” on April 29. The questions were regarding Trump’s DOJ indicting former FBI director James Comey for an alleged threat and the numerous direct threats of violence that Trump has made over the years. Sunny Hostin’s questions received immense applause from the live audience.
Sunny Hostin grills Alina Habba over FBI director comments
“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin grilled Alina Habba, the former White House counselor, about the President’s legal moves.
On Wednesday’s “The View“, there was significant tension when Hostin asked Habba about Trump’s DOJ indicting former FBI director James Comey on Wednesday. The former FBI director was indicted for allegedly posting an image on Instagram of seashells arranged as “86 47,” which they allegedly insisted was a threat against President Donald Trump.
“He is a former FBI director. He knows what 86 47 meant,” Habba said, “There’s no question about it.”
The number 86 is slang for getting rid of something, but its usage to indicate killing is rare. “What do you think ‘86’ means?” Hostin asked Habba. The former counselor answered, “I think 86 means to kill the president, to get rid of the president.” This drew laughter from the live audience.
“They use it in restaurants. Do they mean to kill the meat? What are they killing?” Behar said. “That’s what it means,” Habba said, “His words, not mine.”
Hostin fired back, “The dictionary disagrees with you on that.” Habba responded, “This is an FBI director. We have responsibilities.”
On this note, Hostin said, “The president also posted ‘Death to Democrats.'” She added, “Do you think the president should be held responsible for that?”. There was loud applause from the audience.
“Here’s, directly, how I feel about this. Nobody should be inciting violence, period,” Habba said. “Including the president?” Hostin asked, but Habba did not respond. She said instead, “But you have to remember something. The Department of Justice brings real cases.”
The debate saw audiences strictly in support of the co-hosts.
