Jake Paul is back in the spotlight, but this time it’s not for boxing or business moves. The internet personality reacted after Olivia Rodrigo took a playful dig at him during her Saturday Night Live monologue. Instead of clapping back, Paul leaned into the joke and responded in a surprisingly chill and supportive way.
Jake Paul comments after Olivia Rodrigo’s SNL jab
During her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live, Olivia Rodrigo looked back at her early days on Bizaardvark and joked about how both she and Jake Paul ended up achieving their dreams—just in very different ways.
“I really want to create music that explores the complexities of girls my age,” she said of her younger self, before adding that Paul once wanted “to beat up old guys on Netflix.” She wrapped it up with, “And we both did it! Hurray!”
Paul didn’t ignore the joke. Instead, he responded online with both humor and support. He wrote that they both “had the vision” and added, “proud of you fr.” Even when fans pointed out the joke was at his expense, he brushed it off, saying, “So what. She’s on SNL, and that’s what they are supposed to do.” He made it clear that the moment didn’t affect how he sees her success.
The exchange also brought back memories of their Disney Channel days. Paul shared an old photo from Bizaardvark, captioning it “Ah, the good ole days,” showing there’s still some nostalgia behind the jokes (via Deadline).
Rodrigo, meanwhile, has grown into one of pop’s biggest names. With hits like “Drivers License” and albums like GUTS, she has built a strong fanbase and earned multiple Grammys. Rodrigo’s highly anticipated album titled You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love is also in line for a recent release. Her SNL appearance marked her third time on the show, but her first as host.
Paul has taken a very different path. After his social media fame, he shifted into boxing and headline fights on streaming platforms. His matches have drawn major attention, keeping him relevant in a completely different lane from his Disney roots.
