During Part 1 of The Valley Season 3 reunion, Luke Broderick made a shocking confession. As he shared, he had not watched a single episode back. Even more shocking, however, is the fact that this is becoming the norm on Bravo. It’s time for the network to make a sweeping rule change about this narrative, STAT.
Luke Broderick and other Bravo stars should be contracted to watch their season before reunion
This season was not Luke’s finest. His wife was experiencing postpartum depression, and his comments did not always support her journey. He also made a few WTF statements about wanting her to get pregnant ASAP, all so that he can lock that version of her away in a coffin forever. It was a lot, so fans were eager to see how he might show up at the reunion after watching Season 3.
But fans never got this opportunity. As Luke admitted during Part 1 of the reunion, he skipped this season altogether. Luke knew it would be a tough watch, and he did not feel like reliving it, he explained. As frustrating as this was, viewers have been in this spot before with other Bravo stars, including Jax Taylor, Amanda Batula, West Wilson, and even Scheana Shay, though Scheana did watch her own scenes, because it’s Scheana.
When this happens, these stars tend to lose the plot. What might have felt justified in the moment during filming often looks very different within the full context of the scene. To name a few details they miss, they do not see their colleagues’ reactions to their actions, and they also miss the other viewpoints involved. These two points alone make apologies or reflections difficult, and sometimes even impossible, during their reunions.
As a result, Bravo should add a line to each contract moving forward, demanding its stars watch back their seasons. Invested fans deserve full storylines. We need to see what develops during filming, followed by the star’s afterthoughts and hindsight notes once filming wraps. Otherwise, what are we even doing here?
