There is sure to be disappointment amongst fans of The Pussycat Dolls. The girl group said in March that they would reunite for a PCD Forever Tour. It was to mark the third headlining tour for the band this century and the first since 2009’s Doll Domination Tour.
A couple of months ago, it was revealed that Kimberly Wyatt, Nicole Scherzinger and Ashley Roberts collaborated on a new song. Together, they recorded Club Song in March. Unfortunately, they won’t be coming to as many venues as originally thought.
The Dolls released a statement on Instagram
The allure of The Pussycat Dolls may not be as strong today. On the group’s Instagram page this week, they shared the bad news for fans that the reunion tour would no longer happen, at least not in all the cities previously discussed. In a statement, they say after examining their North American run, they made a “difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North American dates.” The only North American show to go ahead will be at the WeHo Pride event in Los Angeles on June 6. A lack of demand for tickets in North America is said to be the reason.
While many North American fans won’t get to see them, those living in the UK and Europe are in luck. Their statement says those shows will continue as originally scheduled. Tickets for some concerts in those regions are reportedly sold out.
These cancellations won’t just be a disappointment to fans, though. Late last month, the founder of The Pussycat Dolls, Robin Antin, called the PCD Forever Tour a “dream come true.”
After the lone show in LA, the band won’t be live again until September 9. That is when they perform at the Royal Arena in Denmark’s capital. The tour concludes in London on October 13. Anyone who bought tickets to a cancelled show through Ticketmaster or AXS will be automatically refunded. If you bought it from a third party, you’re urged to reach out to them on this matter.
