More facts are surfacing about the lawsuit involving an Oscar-winning actress. Renée Zellweger and boyfriend Ant Anstead are being sued over an apparent injury incurred at their rental property.
It’s been revealed that the complainant in the case is seeking $10 million from the actress and TV presenter. The alleged incident occurred at Ant’s rental home in Laguna Beach in 2024. Glenn Wilson, the home’s owner, is also involved in the suit.
Tracy Belland claims she sustained an injury at a rental home

Tracey Belland is laying out the pain she suffered at the home. TMZ got word of her asking price on Thursday. According to her, that money will compensate for the pain, suffering, and emotional distress that she’s gone through from the alleged incident. In addition, she says it’ll help cover her medical expenses.
Those named in this lawsuit, however, aren’t going down without a fight. Glenn alleges that Tracey filed for bankruptcy, which she didn’t mention, apparently, in her filings. According to Tracey, she hurt herself by stepping on a thin rug covering a hole at the Laguna Beach property. She claims she stumbled on an uneven surface, injuring her knee.
A source claims that the actress from the Bridget Jones franchise never lived at the Southern California home but did live nearby at her own place. She wasn’t on the lease for the home in question and therefor believes she is not be liable. Ant also thinks that he shouldn’t shoulder any blame in this matter. Glenn filled cross complaints against Renée and Ant. According to him the pair should have to pay some of the damages, should any be awarded to Tracey in this case.
Renée and Ant aren’t the first celebrities to be sued over dangerous conditions in their homes. In mid-April, it was reported that Kathy Hilton was being sued. It stems from a party she threw in 2024 when one of the guests, Kimberly Heffington, claimed to have tripped and fallen at her home.
