Despite rumors to the contrary, it doesn’t appear that fans will be watching Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette this summer. Hopeful fans believed it might be announced at the Upfronts earlier this week, but now that hope has faded.
ABC just released their summer schedule and, unfortunately, TFP’s show isn’t on it.
Could TFP’s Bachelorette season be on ice for good?
TMZ first broke the news that, rather than getting to watch Season 22 this summer, it has been shelved indefinitely. Originally scheduled to debut March 22, ABC canceled the season just three days before it premiered. After a video documenting a domestic abuse incident between Taylor and Dakota Mortensen went public, the network pulled the plug.
Since the cancellation, rumors have circulated about when and where her season might drop – if at all. Earlier this week, social media blogger/spoiler Reality Steve claimed that ABC was planning a big announcement at the upfronts. He predicted that Season 22 would be back on the air this summer.
Sadly, Steve was incorrect in this instance. Though ABC failed to make a “big announcement” at the upfronts, there’s still hope they’ll relent and air Taylor’s season. Previously planned programming can be preempted at any time. However, it’s unlikely at this point.
Ultimately, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star and her ex Dakota were both granted temporary restraining orders. At the moment, Dakota also has temporary custody of their two-year-old son Ever, while the case is still in process.
Meanwhile, the judge extended both of those TROs for three years, but custody has yet to be settled. In the meantime, Taylor and Dakota were told to work toward mediation for the sake of their son.
The court case resumes on June 1.
