‘First Royal’ To ‘Turn Their Back’ on Ex-Prince Andrew Revealed — Author

Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, reportedly became the first senior royal to completely distance herself from former Prince Andrew after the scandals that damaged his public image, according to royal author Christopher Andersen. In a recent interview with Page Six, Andersen claimed Kate took a firm stance against the disgraced royal long before others within the family publicly followed suit.

Kate Middleton is the ‘first royal’ to cut off Ex-Prince Andrew, per royal author

“She is the first royal to cut him off, to turn her back on him,” Andersen alleged while discussing his latest book, Kate! The Courage, Grace, and Power of the Woman Who Will Be Queen. According to Andersen, Kate deliberately avoided Andrew at family functions and holiday gatherings.

The royal author claimed she no longer spoke to him at events and reportedly pushed to keep him away from high-profile appearances linked to the monarchy. The Princess of Wales also reportedly stopped Andrew from attending her Christmas concert at Westminster Abbey. According to Andersen, Andrew asked other people if he could quietly enter through a side door, but was reportedly told, “Nope, we don’t want your face on camera.”

Andersen said, “Kate is looking forward,” and does not want scandals or negative connections to damage the monarchy. He added that, “She’s the wife of a future monarch,” and “mother of a future monarch,” who is next in line to the throne after William. The author also claimed both William and Kate supported efforts to remove Andrew from official royal life.

According to Andersen, the Prince and Princess of Wales privately encouraged King Charles III to take stronger action regarding Andrew’s royal status. Andrew, who now reportedly goes by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, lost his royal titles in 2025 amid mounting controversy surrounding his past associations and legal troubles. The royal author also pointed to a September 2025 memorial service for the Duchess of Kent, where William and Kate allegedly kept their distance when Andrew attempted to speak with them.
