One of Hulk Hogan’s former employees is in a world of legal trouble. The accountant of the late wrestling legend is facing her share of federal charges. They allegedly took around $890,000 from a well-known person, according to reports. The wrestler, born Terry Gene Bollea, has not been identified as the victim.
It’s alleged that this accountant used her business to embezzle a large sum of money. While Hulk hasn’t been named in this matter, it is believed that she worked for him between 2017 and 2021. It’s around those years when the large sums of money were allegedly embezzled.
Melissa Gauthreaux has been charged with wire fraud
Melissa Gauthreaux could be spending a good chunk of her money on legal fees. The former accountant of Hulk has been charged with six counts of wire fraud, according to TMZ. The allegations are that she used her business, Accounting Resources and Management Services, to embezzle all that dough.
According to TMZ’s sources, she previously worked for the former WWE superstar and actor, doing bookkeeping among other things. The federal indictment states that Melissa had signing authority on behalf of the alleged victim in her case. That means she might have been able to divert some funds without consent, according to reports. The alleged victim was only identified as a “public figure.”
Since his untimely passing last summer, there have been many controversial stories involving the Hulkster. In August, it was reported that he might have been a medical malpractice victim before his death the month before. In his will, Hulk reportedly left his daughter, Brooke, no money. That was something she voluntarily opted out of.
The indictment of Melissa follows a lengthy FBI investigation into this matter. If convicted, she could face up to 20 years in federal prison for each count.
