Selena Gomez’s Husband Benny Blanco Almost Stabs Friend in Bizarre Home Invasion Mix-up

Benny Blanco recently shared details about a strange late-night scare at his home that nearly ended badly. During an episode of his “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast, Blanco recalled mistaking one of his friends for a possible intruder. This comes after he heard a few noises inside the house. The producer explained that he had grabbed a knife while trying to figure out who was moving around the property. But the situation later turned out to be a misunderstanding.

Benny Blanco explains his encounter with an “intruder” at home

While discussing the incident, Benny Blanco said he woke up late at night after hearing movement somewhere inside the house. Thinking somebody may have broken in, Selena Gomez’s husband quietly walked toward the kitchen. At the moment, he also picked up a knife before checking the noise himself.

“I heard something in the house and instantly panicked,” Blanco recalled. During the conversation, rapper Lil Dicky questioned why he had not used a gun instead. Blanco admitted he would “probably accidentally shoot” himself if he owned one and joked that a knife had felt like the safer option at the time.

Blanco also revealed he had hidden behind furniture while waiting for the “intruder” to appear. “I was crouched behind the couch ready to stab upward,” he said. It was later discovered that the suspected intruder was actually one of Blanco’s friends. According to Blanco, the friend had also heard noises inside the house and grabbed a knife himself after becoming frightened.

“He thought somebody broke in, too,” he explained. The 38-year-old later joked there had been a “50/50 chance” one of them could have been stabbed before they realized what was actually happening. Yet, nobody was injured during the mishap.

Back in November last year, a real-life incident took place at Blanco’s mother, Sandra Levin’s, home in Studio City, California. Burglars entered the property while she was inside. Levin took cover in a bathroom until they left. The intruders searched through the house before fleeing. However, she was not injured.
