“The View” panelist Ana Navarro did not hold back when she tore down US President Donald Trump for allowing the erection of a gold statue of himself on his Miami golf course. The Nicaraguan-American commentator blasted the development in the latest episode of the long-running ABC talk show, going as far as to compare Trump to some of the worst dictators in history.
Ana Navarro slams Donald Trump’s gold statue
On the May 11 episode of “The View”, Navarro called out Donald Trump for installing a golden effigy of himself, before likening his decision to something that an infamous leader like Joseph Stalin would do.
She started off by saying, “I actually don’t know who that statue’s of. It’s a skinny guy with a tight neck.”
“Look, I think he can do whatever the hell he wants in his private property,” she continued. “He wants to put a giant p***s in there; go ahead and do it. The problem here is, again, the conflict of interest is getting paid by some crypto donor, an industry that has benefited tremendously from the deregulation or lack thereof of this administration.”
Notably, Evangelical pastor Mark Burns led the proceedings on May 6, 2026, when he unveiled a 22-foot gold statue of Donald Trump at the Trump National Doral Miami.
Adding to her rant, Navarro stated, “It’s also a little weird, and again tone-deaf, at a time when Americans are going through so much, and then it gives like wannabe dictator, small dictator energy. Kim Jong Un in North Korea does this. Saddam Hussein in Iraq, there were statues over him, Joseph Stalin…This is not what we do in America.”
Whoopi Goldberg seemed to agree with her co-host’s remark about the US President being a dictator. “I told you, there are posters of him throughout Washington, giant banners of his face,” she noted.
Sunny Hostin also threw shade at the controversial Donald Trump sculpture, stating, “That’s a real tacky statue. I mean, we know he’s very tacky. He’s got a gold toilet and everything, so he’s just a tacky dude.”
