Mandy Moore Reveals Why Mother-In-Law Is Go-to Person for Venting

When Mandy Moore has a lot on her plate and needs to let it all out, she goes straight to her mother in law instead of calling her best friend or her own mom. Moore has three kids under six and a new movie hitting theaters soon. Hence, it is imperative that she needs a reliable shoulder, and her mother in law, Kathy Goldsmith, just happens to be the perfect person, especially since, in Moore’s words, they are “very close.”

Mandy Moore talks about mother-in-law Kathy Goldsmith being the person she goes to for venting

In an exclusive interview with E! News’ Erin Lim Rhodes for her upcoming film “The Breadwinner,” Mandy Moore revealed she goes to her mother in law to vent to when life gets chaotic, saying, “I love my mother-in-law, and we’re very close.” Moore also admitted, “She’s very helpful with the kids and is just a huge part of our support system. So, she’s the first person I would vent to.”

Kathy Goldsmith is the mother of Moore’s husband, Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith. The couple has three children, including a 5-year-old Gus, a 3-year-old Ozzie, and a 20-month-old Lou. Over the past year, Moore has been relying on Kathy to handle the family in ways that go far beyond casual venting.

In a July Instagram post, Moore opened up about how much Kathy means to her. She stated, “It’s been a hell of a year and my Mother-in-law, Kathy, has risen to the occasion in every way,” also writing, “Selfishly, I’m not sure what I would have done without her.” Besides, Moore highlighted how her mother in law “has been by our side since the very beginning, without skipping a beat,” even when she was dealing with her own troubles.

Furthermore, Moore added, “We couldn’t be luckier that she’s ours and we’re never letting her go.”

The relationship between Mandy Moore and her mother in law seems to show that she has found a genuine partner in Kathy, someone who can handle the chaos of raising a young family and navigating difficult times without flinching.
