Meghan Markle has reportedly asked Prince Harry to “hold out” on peace talks until Prince William makes an apology. Post-Megxit in 2020, things went sour between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family. However, Harry has reportedly made it clear that he now wants to put the past to rest and rebuild his relationship with his father, King Charles. While Markle supports Harry’s decision, sources say that she believes that, to bring peace, he doesn’t have to “throw himself at William’s feet.”
Meghan Markle asks Prince Harry to ‘hold out’ on peace talks until Prince William apologizes, per source
Amid the ongoing feud between Prince Harry and Prince William, sources say that Meghan Markle wants her husband to “hold out” on peace talks until William apologizes. Harry and Markle moved to Montecito in 2020 after stepping down from their senior working royal duties. They went on to pursue their independent ventures, including Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” in which he discussed his grievances against his family, ultimately causing a rift between him and the Royal Family.
However, a source told National Examiner that the Duke of Sussex misses his brother and his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. While Markle understands that he wants to “bury the hatchet,” she believes that Harry should not have to beg for William’s forgiveness to make it happen.
While Harry and King Charles finally met in July, William reportedly still doesn’t want to see his younger brother. Harry, however, wants “reconciliation” with his family, as he stated in an interview with the BBC in 2025. He also doesn’t believe there is any point in “continuing to fight anymore,” adding that “life is precious.”
A source said that while Markle understands Harry’s situation, she cannot pretend to forget everything that happened. The insider said, “She’s telling Harry that if and when he makes peace with William, it needs to be for the right reasons, with a mutual sense of contrition.”
Markle allegedly believes it would be “remiss of Harry” to apologize for anything he hasn’t done. The source added that she would rather Harry wait it out than rush the reconciliation. The Duchess wants William to accept his mistake; otherwise, she believes her husband is “signing up for more misery.”
