Modern Family Star Reacts to Chiefs’ Taylor Swift-Inspired NFL Schedule Reveal

Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet mocked the Chiefs after their Taylor Swift-coded NFL reveal used sourdough jokes. The ABC sitcom alum reposted the team’s bread-themed X thread and asked if football leadership could handle it next year.

A new report said the playful rollout referenced Swift’s sourdough hobby and Travis Kelce connection. The post also showed Brett Rasdall defending the bread clue by pointing back to Kelce’s chair joke.

As per Eric Stonestreet’s X post dated May 12, 2026, the actor reacted to the team’s thread. Kansas City wrote, “Presenting our 2026 opponents as sourdough.” It called the rollout “a bread thread if you will.” The first visible clue read, “Starting saucy with KC BBQ.” The post showed a barbecue-stuffed loaf beside sauce and a grill backdrop. Stonestreet then wrote, “Next year can we have Andy, Brett, and Patrick be in charge of this too?” He added, “Or ask the Chargers to do it for us?”

As per the PEOPLE report dated May 12, 2026, Kansas City used sourdough to unveil its schedule. The outlet said the bread theme nodded to Taylor Swift’s baking hobby and Travis Kelce.

The publication reported fans called the thread “bad” and “the most disappointing reveal ever.” Meanwhile, the report said some fans felt the team tried too hard for Swift’s audience. It also noted the official NFL schedule would be released on May 14 with 272 regular-season matchups.

The sourdough connection came from Kelce’s earlier “New Heights” joke about Swift’s homemade bread. In the other uploaded screenshot, Brett Rasdall reposted The Swift Society’s February 6 post. The post quoted Kelce saying, “I broke Taylor’s chair” after eating “her sourdough.”

Rasdall then wrote, “How did you not get it?” PEOPLE also referenced the Chargers’ 2025 Minecraft-themed schedule video. The report said it went viral and left even Kansas City fans comparing releases.
