TIME just did a deep dive into Nick’s newfound home in the MAGA universe. They literally sat down with her at Mar-a-Lago, if you needed any more proof of just how deep she is into this.
Their report explained how Nicki is a central part of the Trump administration’s celebrity engagement strategy. They want to win cool points in the culture, all while their approval ratings tank.
Everything is going according to plan, but Nicki explained she’s more than just a Trump administration chess piece. She truly believes in the MAGA movement, and it didn’t happen overnight. Remember when Nicki went viral for saying that the COVID-19 vaccine made her cousin’s balls swell up?
When that happened, everyone ridiculed her, but she said that Charlie Kirk reached out to her and offered support. That gave her the first taste of the MAGA world’s attention that she was already quietly wanting.
“I felt that way already about him, just that I didn’t dare act like that publicly,” she said. “It’s been ingrained in everyone’s brain in the music business that we are supposed to be a Democratic family. I just knew they would not like me supporting Trump.”
Of course, her ongoing conspiracy about Jay-Z and Roc Nation trying to sabotage her career also plays a part in this because of his coziness with Barack Obama. However, Nicki explained that her resentment towards Democrats reached a new high after a series of swatting incidents.
Between 2022 and 2023, Nicki endured repeated swatting. She tagged Governor Newsom on Twitter/X, asking for help, and she felt slighted when he didn’t respond.
“He just completely ignored me, with all the money I spent in taxes,” she explained.
Nicki’s mansion got swatted again in April 2025, and that time, it caught online attention from right-wing influencers, like former Turning Point USA employee and current Florida representative Anna Paulina Luna. She connected Nicki with federal law enforcement, and Nicki couldn’t believe it.
“I was shocked,” Nicki gushed. “I’d never seen anyone in politics treat me that way.”
“That’s what made me say that I don’t care to keep this a secret anymore,” Nicki explained.
That means that if Governor Newsom had responded to Nicki on social media, she might not be sitting in Mar-a-Lago right now. Instead, she’d be sitting at home, quietly worshipping the MAGA movement and fending off swatters.
