Gavin Newsom Mocks Donald Trump With Dumb & Dumber Poster

California Governor Gavin Newsom never seems to pass up on a chance to make fun of Donald Trump, as evidenced by his latest social media post targeting the president. The former San Francisco mayor took yet another jab at Trump, as well as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, by sharing a photo of the duo’s faces morphed onto a poster of the 1994 comedy Dumb and Dumber.

On May 14, the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of Gavin Newsom’s press office called out Donald Trump and Scott Bessent for seemingly ruining the American economy. His team published an edited Dumb and Dumber poster, featuring the president and the treasury secretary in place of Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels.

In the revised one sheet, Trump posed as Daniels’s character Harry Dunne while Bessent replaced Carrey’s character of Lloyd Christmas. Similar to the original poster, Newsom’s edited picture also showcased Trump tugging at Bessent’s ears as the latter pulled at the president’s hair.

Newsom’s press office also customized the poster’s tagline to befit the edit, with the altered dialogue stating, “For Donald and Scott, everyday is a no brainer.” Furthermore, the post came with a targeting caption, which read, “DUMB AND DUMBER! These two RUINED our great American economy!”

The morphed poster was one of several posts Newsom shared on Thursday, slamming Trump for supposedly hurting the country’s economy. One post compared the inflation, GDP growth, and unemployment rates in Trump and Joe Biden’s tenures, highlighting a concerning trend in all categories.

Other updates saw Newsom blast Trump for the rising prices, the increased number of lost jobs, as well as the adverse effects of his tariff policies. Notably, Newsom’s online attack on Trump comes just days after the president scored the worst-ever approval rating regarding inflation.
