A source from hospitality told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice that these fine dining places have reportedly been reluctant to deal with the singer as a customer. “But Britney has become something very different — too unpredictable, too chaotic, and honestly too toxic for the room.”
According to another insider, restaurant owners have seemingly been “terrified” of dealing with controversies related to her. They reportedly would not want to go into the “damage control” mode because of “one erratic moment.” They might be worried that a guest could record Spears’ actions and post them on TikTok, which could harm the restaurant’s reputation.
“If Britney walks in and things spiral, it changes the entire atmosphere instantly. Guests don’t feel relaxed anymore,” a source said. They mentioned that it could seemingly happen because these luxury diners mostly provide “exclusivity and discretion” to their guests. Moreover, the recent knife incident has reportedly put the owners on edge.
Although they might “feel sympathy” for Spears, the leniency could allegedly not protect their business. “Right now, many owners simply see her as bad for business,” a source added.
However, the 44-year-old’s rep had issued a statement a few days ago. In it, they stated that the incident was “completely blown out of proportion.” Reportedly, she had dinner with her bodyguard and assistant, to whom she was sharing a story about her dog. Furthermore, she was using the knife to cut her hamburger.
