Nicki Minaj Hasn’t Asked Trump for ‘Pardon,’ Claims Insider

Nicki Minaj has not asked Donald Trump for favors, a Trump-linked consultant claimed. The rap superstar’s growing MAGA connection has fueled questions about her motives behind her support. A new interview said Minaj and Trump have developed a real friendship, not a transactional arrangement.

The claim followed a Wall Street Journal report on her political rise and online speculation about possible favours. It also placed American political consultant Alex Bruesewitz at the center of the denial and public pushback.

Political consultant Alex Bruesewitz talks Nicki Minaj and Donald Trump’s friendship

According to a TMZ report dated May 20, 2026, Alex Bruesewitz discussed the rapper. The political consultant spoke outside the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, D.C. He said he connected with her through mutual friends. Bruesewitz called her “a great person” with “a massive platform.” He also said Minaj and Donald Trump had built “such a great friendship.” Asked if they were friends, he replied, “I would absolutely say that they’re friends.”

Bruesewitz then denied rumors that Minaj wanted favors from the president. He said, “Nicki has never asked the president for anything.” He added that she had “only been helpful” and asked how she could help. The consultant also said, “No conversation about a pardon has taken place.” Then, he added, “No conversation about financial payments has taken place.” Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal reported that Minaj’s Trump support fueled speculation over a pardon for family members.

As per The Wall Street Journal report dated May 17, 2026, Minaj visited Trump in the Oval Office. It also said she supported administration priorities at the United Nations. However, Bruesewitz told TMZ that critics wanted to discredit her politics. He said it was rare for someone as prominent as Minaj to break from celebrity ranks. The consultant called her support “quite courageous.” Meanwhile, the Journal quoted Minaj calling Trump’s work a “second job.” At a January event, she said, “I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan.”
