Tucker Carlson Implies Donald Trump Has Weakened America’s Global Power

Tucker Carlson is no longer pulling punches when it comes to Donald Trump. The former Fox News host, once one of Trump’s loudest media allies, used a recent podcast episode to argue that the president’s second-term policies have weakened the United States rather than strengthened it, amid the ongoing Iran war.

The comments mark the latest sign of a growing divide inside the broader MAGA movement. This is particularly over foreign policy and America’s involvement in conflicts overseas.

Tucker Carlson no longer supports Donald Trump and MAGA

Speaking on the May 20 episode of “The Tucker Carlson Show,” Carlson criticized Trump’s handling of the ongoing Iran war conflict, and accused the administration of drifting away from the “America First” principles that helped fuel Trump’s political rise.

According to Carlson, the administration has become too focused on international priorities while neglecting issues at home. “The last year has not made America great again,” Carlson said. “The last year has diminished American power at a rate some of us thought was unimaginable.”

A major focus of Carlson’s criticism involved Trump’s recent remarks about his popularity in Israel. The president reportedly joked that he enjoys such strong support there that he could run for prime minister.

Carlson seized on those comments, arguing that Trump appeared more interested in approval abroad than concerns among American voters. “The president of the United States bragging about his popularity in a foreign country,” Carlson said. As per OK! Magazine, he noted that Trump’s domestic approval ratings have faced challenges in recent polling.

The conservative commentator also linked the Iran war situation to rising economic concerns. He argued that disruptions tied to the crisis have contributed to higher energy prices and added pressure to American households already dealing with inflation.

Carlson went even further, suggesting that voters who supported Trump expected a non-interventionist approach to foreign affairs and now feel disappointed by the administration’s direction.

The criticism represents a notable shift from a commentator who strongly supported Trump during previous election cycles. Earlier this year, Carlson admitted he regretted some of his political endorsements and said he would be “tormented” by certain decisions for a long time.

The White House has not taken the criticism quietly. Trump previously dismissed Carlson’s attacks in his Truth Social post, calling him a “low-IQ person” and insisting he does not understand what is happening behind the scenes.
