Prince William got coy when asked if he had received Taylor Swift’s wedding invitation. The Prince of Wales laughed off the question before hinting that one could still arrive. The exchange came during a live radio appearance from the Isles of Scilly.
It followed a lighter moment about Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis loving the pop star. William also recalled taking his children to Swift’s Wembley show during her “Eras Tour.”
Prince William says he’s hoping ‘There might be an invitation around’ while talking about Taylor Swift’s wedding
In the Heart Breakfast’s YouTube interview, Prince William joined Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden. The royal appeared live from the Isles of Scilly for a special broadcast. When asked what song to play next, William said, “How about some Taylor Swift?” He explained that Charlotte and Louis were fans. He added, “Charlotte particularly is obsessed by Taylor Swift.” The royal also said they saw her tour and “did meet her.”
William then described the Wembley concert as a family outing. He said they watched from a box, away from the main stage action. However, he said the atmosphere was “so incredible” that the floors were shaking. The hosts dedicated Swift’s “Opalite” to Charlotte, who was listening during the school run. After the song, Theakston turned the chat toward Taylor Swift’s rumored summer wedding with Travis Kelce.
The host asked whether William had received an invite. Prince William replied, “No comment,” and laughed. He then added, “I am hoping,” before saying, “there might be an invitation around.” The royal closed the remark with, “Will see.” For context, William and Swift’s public link goes back years. They famously sang “Livin’ on a Prayer” with Jon Bon Jovi in 2013. More recently, Swift posed with William, George, and Charlotte backstage at Wembley. A wedding appearance would likely require major planning, especially with royal security and Swift’s global profile.
