Amid the final curtain of The Late Show, Kamala Harris shared a message of gratitude with Stephen Colbert for blending laughter with moral weight throughout his tenure.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), former Vice President Harris shared a photo with Stephen Colbert, accompanied by a heartfelt caption.

“Stephen Colbert has a talent for making people laugh and encouraging them to stay curious, stay engaged, and stay hopeful about the world around them. @StephenAtHome: Thank you for your voice, your creativity, and so many memorable conversations over the years. Cheers to you,” the note read.

Hillary Clinton added her voice to the farewells with an Instagram post celebrating Colbert’s legacy.

“Every time I sat across the desk from Stephen Colbert, I knew we’d have a conversation that was about more than just getting laughs. Alongside his great wit, Stephen brought deep thoughtfulness, empathy,” the caption read.

Tributes also poured in from fellow guests and late-night colleagues on social media, with Joe Biden, William H. Macy, George Clooney, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel, Carrie Preston, and Aubrey Plaza among those celebrating Stephen Colbert and his team.

Meanwhile, David Letterman, Jon Stewart, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Jake Tapper, and former President Barack Obama were among the notable names who sat down with Stephen Colbert for one final conversation. Tom Hanks, Sally Field, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and a reunited “Strike Force Five” also joined him, each helping to commemorate what many see as his involuntary send-off.

Colbert ended the final episode of The Late Show with a rendition of The Beatles’ “Hello, Goodbye,” performed alongside guest Sir Paul McCartney.

CBS has replaced The Late Show with Stephen Colbert with Byron Allen’s Comics Unleashed at 11:35 p.m. following the May 21 finale.
