Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt’s breakup has become a public affair in a way nobody close to the comedian expected. However, sources claim that Davidson only wants what is best for Hewitt. The 30-year-old model took to social media earlier this month and told followers she is raising their baby alone, igniting a firestorm. But those in Davidson’s circle are resisting that claim, saying that the comedian-actor has done nothing but try to be a steady presence for Hewitt and their 5-month-old daughter, Scottie Rose.
Pete Davidson’s friend says he only wants what’s best for Elsie Hewitt, claims source
An insider told Page Six that Pete Davidson just wants the best for Elsie Hewitt and their little baby. The trouble reportedly began when Hewitt posted on Instagram looking for a “mother’s helper / nanny type,” and then uploaded a TikTok, whispering, “I have a baby to take care of,” in the video. She also claimed, “I have to work and make money. I’m doing it on my own, which is hard.”
The posts left the impression that Davidson had stepped back, but an insider claimed that his “main priority right now is making sure that Elsie and Scottie are looked after, so it’s utterly confusing to everyone who knows them why she would possibly post anything about him not supporting her.” Moreover, multiple sources confirmed that Davidson covers rent, living expenses, and health insurance for both Hewitt and their baby, and he even rearranged his work schedule to stay in the city.
The former couple met through mutual friends, went public in March 2025, announced a pregnancy by July, and welcomed Scottie on December 12. Friends claimed that their romance simply could not survive the shock that came with parenthood, noting, “Having a baby is difficult — no one can prepare you for what happens after you have a baby.” Meanwhile, another source noted that the two “clashed too much.” But another stressed that the problems between them had nothing to do with the baby.
Now, as Davidson’s friend claimed, he just wants Hewitt “to be happy and in a good place,” noting that he is a “good guy” who does not believe in “disrespecting women.”
