Just a day after Nathan said he would be taking a step back from the spotlight and not sharing so much of his life online and in front of the cameras, we found a court filing on the Australian NSW court website. While not many details are given, it shows that an “apprehended violence application” was filed. Whether this was filed by Gael or Nathan is not confirmed.

The details on the page suggest that the application will be heard in court on the morning of September 1, 2026. The case number appears to show that the application was filed in 2025. This likely means that it was submitted after filming for Below Deck Med Season 11 had wrapped.

An “Apprehended Violence Application,” or AVO, is a formal request made to a court to protect a person from somebody they believe could cause them harm. The defendant will need to attend court on the first date after receiving their application notice. Once there, a judge will ask if they agree or disagree to the AVO being made.

As previously mentioned, it is not clear which of the pair the AVO application was filed against.

Eagle-eyed viewers noticed that something didn’t seem right between Gael and Nathan five months ago. Gael unfollowed Nathan on Instagram, a couple of months after Nathan announced (and failed) a six-month social media break. He returned to Instagram with the lyrics of a song playing over his post. They read: “And my ex got me blocked, but I know she peekin’,” which raised a few eyebrows.

Then, on March 12, Nathan posted a photo of Gael with their son, Kayden, strapped to her chest. They were out at the zoo.

Today, the pair don’t follow each other on Instagram. Images of Gael do remain on Nathan’s Instagram, but he has seemingly been wiped completely from her page.

Whatever happens next, our thoughts are with those affected, and we hope that little Kayden continues to thrive.
