Gavin Newsom Slams Donald Trump for Seemingly ‘Sleeping’ at Events

California Governor Gavin Newsom recently accused President Donald Trump of seemingly sleeping at important events. This comes after Trump was accused of dozing off at the recent Memorial Day event. There have been numerous instances in recent months when internet users have alleged that Trump has been sleeping during White House events.

Donald Trump called out by Gavin Newsom for seemingly ‘sleeping’

Gavin Newsom recently took a shot at President Donald Trump for appearing to be asleep during multiple events. He shared a collage of photos in which Trump has his eyes closed, with his head appearing to be falling to the side.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Newsom questioned Trump’s suitability for his role as President and wrote, “America deserves a mentally fit President. Unfortunately, we don’t have one.” Trump made headlines recently after he was seemingly caught sleeping at the Memorial Day observance at Arlington National Cemetery. While Pete Hegseth, the US Defense Secretary, was addressing military officials and other attendees at the event, photographers captured Trump with his eyes closed for an extended period. This resulted in accusations that the President was sleeping during the event.

Additionally, a doctor on CNN also raised concerns over the apparent sleeping incidents involving Trump. This comes amid the President’s new health check-up at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. According to a report by Forbes, Dr. Jonathan Reiner conveyed, “He falls asleep very often. He’s fallen asleep in the Oval Office on multiple occasions with people talking to him in the cabinet room, and there was concern yesterday that he might have fallen asleep at Arlington National Cemetery during Memorial Day observances. It’s a real problem. And I’d like to hear what the White House has done to evaluate why the president has this increased daytime somnolence.”
