Pam Bondi Scheduled To Testify in Jeffrey Epstein Probe After Recent Thyroid Cancer Surgery

Pam Bondi has spent recent weeks battling a health challenge away from the public eye. The former U.S. attorney general recently confirmed that she is recovering from thyroid cancer while preparing to remain active in public service and ongoing government matters.

The health update arrives as Bondi is expected to participate in discussions connected to the continuing scrutiny surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

As Pam Bondi recovers from thyroid cancer, she is presumably testifying in the Jeffrey Epstein probe this week

Bondi confirmed to CNN that she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer after leaving the Department of Justice in April. The 60-year-old said she underwent surgery several weeks ago and is continuing treatment while recovering.

“I’m doing well,” Bondi told the outlet, offering a brief update on her condition after reports of her diagnosis surfaced publicly.

The former Florida attorney general’s health battle remained largely private until recent reports brought it into view. Conservative commentator Katie Miller later praised Bondi in a social media post, writing that she had been “quietly kicking cancer’s a**” in recent weeks.

The diagnosis comes during a period of significant transition for Bondi. President Donald Trump removed her from the attorney general position in early April. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stepped in as acting attorney general, with a permanent replacement yet to be named.

Bondi’s departure followed months of criticism surrounding the Justice Department’s handling of files connected to Jeffrey Epstein. The financier’s 2019 federal sex-trafficking case continues to fuel public interest and political debate. Her tenure also drew attention to personnel changes within the department and investigations involving several of Trump’s political opponents.

Despite her health challenges and exit from the Justice Department, Bondi is not stepping away from public work. She has been appointed to the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, a White House advisory panel focused on emerging technologies and artificial intelligence.

According to Axios, Bondi will help coordinate discussions between key administration officials and technology leaders as the government continues shaping AI policy.

Vice President JD Vance praised her continued involvement, saying in a statement to CBS News that Bondi remains “an enormously valuable asset” to the administration and will continue contributing to major policy initiatives.
