Cage discussed his memorable internet memes in a new interview with Complex. Interviewer Mami Tiff showed the actor some of his classic memes from his films, including Vampire’s Kiss, The Wicker Man (2006), and Con Air. To which the actor joked, “Does any other actor deal with this at this level?”

Tiff pulled out the first meme from a scene in Vampire’s Kiss, in which the actor has his eyes widened and his mouth open in shock. It is popularly known as the “You Don’t Say Meme.” Cage joked, “I think more people know that image from the meme than have ever seen the movie or how that guy got there.”

Next, the interviewer showed him a memorable shot from his movie The Wicker Man. Cage shared a “bizarre” story about the scene where his character wore a wire cage on his head filled with bees. The 62-year-old explained, “I never understood why my grandfather, when I was about eight years old, wanted to make a fly trap. He made this weird wire fly trap and put honey in it to catch flies, and it was just so bizarre.” Cage explained that his weird memory prompted the idea of putting a trap over his head in the movie.

Tiff presented another iconic meme, his trademark shocked expression from Face Off. Notably, Cage played Castor Troy opposite John Travolta as Sean Archer. The star explained how Troy was a “bad guy” who wasn’t “doing appropriate things.” Finally, the interviewer showed him the meme from Con Air and revealed to Cage that people “love” this one, especially the “hair.”

The 62-year-old recalled, “I just said, I’ve got to take this moment and just give me a second. Let me take that sun and that bliss in because that’s what’s most important to that character.”

After premiering on MGM+ recently, Spider-Noir will come out on Amazon Prime Video on May 27.
