Camila Mendes’ Roberto Cavalli Dress Dramatically Slips off at Premiere

There’s something about vintage Roberto Cavalli that refuses to stay quiet, and Camila Mendes just proved it again with her latest look. While attending the Berlin premiere of “Masters of the Universe,” the actress stepped onto the red carpet in a dramatic leopard-print piece.

This head-turning ensemble, from none other than Roberto Cavalli’s Pre-Fall 2010 collection, looked equal parts glamorous and unapologetically theatrical. However, the standout detail is that the dress appeared to slip off one shoulder effortlessly. It gave the archival look an edge.

Designed in Roberto Cavalli’s signature wild-animal aesthetic, Camila Mendes’ vintage gown featured an asymmetrical neckline. It added a fierce touch to the whole look. Meanwhile, Mendes’ ensemble also had a visibly sculpted corset-inspired bodice, exposed boning, and a body-skimming silhouette that extended into a sweeping train. Furthermore, even the off-the-shoulder draping created the illusion that the dress was dramatically falling away.

In fact, these style elements ended up adding movement. Plus, the old-Hollywood drama to the already striking leopard-print design of Mendes’ modern and mesmerizing ensemble. The look also felt especially fitting for the film’s press tour. Mendes, who plays Teela in the fantasy epic, has been embracing character-inspired fashion throughout the promotional circuit, and the animal-print Cavalli moment instantly drew comparisons to the franchise’s feline-like energy.

Styled by none other than the styling genius, Molly Dickson, the “Dangerous Lies” actress paired the gown with layered silver jewelry, keeping the accessories sleek, while allowing the archival dress to take center stage. Mendes’ gasp-worthy accessory choices added some extra panache and sass to elevate the whole look. Her beauty choices visibly complemented the vintage glamour perfectly. Mendes also wore her dark hair slicked back with a side part, letting the gown’s dramatic neckline remain fully visible. The whole ensemble worked beautifully for her.
