Ariana Grande has officially entered her soft summer era. Fresh off the release of her latest single, ‘Hate That I Made You Love Me,’ the singer debuted a cinematic music video where she sports a plunging lemon yellow dress. The video was packed with vintage visuals, dramatic storytelling, and an interesting wardrobe. Reuniting with longtime stylist Law Roach, Grande stepped into character. She brought polished retro glamor to the screen while navigating the song’s horror narrative.
Ariana Grande is ready for summer in plunging lemon yellow Aknvas for new music video
In the video, Ariana Grande portrays a ghostly figure who continues to linger around her boyfriend, played by Justin Long, after he buries her underground, as noted by Marie Claire. Despite the dark storyline, her wardrobe remains clean and polished throughout, adding to the surreal, picture-perfect atmosphere of the visual.
One standout look featured a custom lemon-yellow dress by Danish label AKNVAS. The sleeveless design embraced a timeless silhouette while delivering a fresh seasonal twist through its bright color palette.
The dress featured a plunging V-neckline that added a subtle provocative detail to the ladylike design. Tiny bow accents were stitched delicately on top of each shoulder strap, while a matching monochromatic belt cinched the waist and highlighted the structured upper half. Creative director Christian Juul Nielsen elevated the design further with a delicately pleated tea-length skirt layered over “voluminous petticoats.”
Grande paired the dress with equally polished accessories. This included a delicate choker necklace that featured two pearl pendants and matching pearl stud earrings. Completing the look were coordinating gingham-print stilettos in an almost similar shade to the dress. This created a cohesive finish from head to toe.
With its sunny color, plunging neckline, and proper silhouette, the custom AKNVAS dress struck the perfect balance between sweetness and sophistication. The look not only complemented the whimsical tone of “Hate That I Made You Love Me” but also delivered a reminder that no one does a retro look like Ariana Grande.
