President Donald Trump’s approval ratings are out, and his new numbers are an all-time low across both terms. According to a poll by The Economist/YouGov, his total approval rating is 34 percent versus a 59 percent disapproval rating. And going by the numbers, the rating is lower than any approval rating former President Joe Biden received during his presidency, according to YouGov.
In an email release to Newsweek, YouGov’s Allen Houston said in part, “Only one in three Americans approves of how Donald Trump is handling his job as president, lower than Trump’s approval in any weekly Economist/YouGov Poll over his two terms as president, and lower than Joe Biden ever received during his term.”
But among those aged 18 to 29, Trump’s approval is 19 percent. With Republicans, the President’s approval is 80 percent. While among Hispanics, it’s 23 percent and 30 percent with women. However, “Trump’s net approval of -26 is also a record low for either of his terms or Biden’s term,” Houston mentioned in the release.
When asked about Trump hitting his lowest approval rating, White House Spokesman Davis Ingle told the outlet that “The ultimate poll was November 5th 2024 when nearly 80 million Americans overwhelmingly elected President Trump to deliver on his popular and commonsense agenda.”
The spokesperson further added that other than Trump, “no other President in history has accomplished more for the American people” as he is “working tirelessly to create jobs, cool inflation, increase housing affordability, and more.” “The President has already made historic progress not only in America but around the world, and this is just the beginning as his agenda continues taking effect,” the spokesperson added.
