The clip shows the couple going incognito for their NYC date night, riding a bike and watching the billboard, among other things. However, soon after her claims, fans were quick to point out that the actress had indeed been to the place previously as well.

Scooter Braun recently took Sydney Sweeney on a late-night trip to Times Square in New York City after she revealed that she had never seen the iconic place. “When you’re in bed at 11pm and your girl says “I’ve never been to Times Square….,” Braun captioned his recent Instagram reel.
The clip shows the couple wearing hoodies along with sunglasses and exploring the streets of the Big Apple. They were on rented bikes while having a bite in between and watching Sweeney’s American Eagle billboard for her new campaign — “Syd for Short.” Netizens were happy to see the couple visiting the place without being bothered by the crowd. But, they were quick to claim that Sweeney had indeed been to Times Square twice before, contrary to what she claimed.
As per the Daily Mail, fans claimed Sweeney visited the place in December 2023. It was during her promo tour for Glen Powell’s rom-com, “Anyone But You.” In the clip, Sweeney asks, “Where are we?,” to which Powell responds, “Times Square.” The actress then revealed that she has “never been to Times Square!.” She later visited the place again in November 2025 to promote her biopic, “Christy.”
“She ‘never been to Times Square’ but was there with Glen Powell in 2023 doing promo? The math ain’t mathing. Scooter got the recycled tour,” one fan pointed out. While a second mentioned, “She probably just forgot.”
