FIFA finally reacts to IShowSpeed’s World Cup song
FIFA has finally responded to IShowSpeed’s World Cup anthem “Champions”, acknowledging the track that gained global traction online. The popular online streamer and influencer, born Darren Jason Watkins Jr., released the football-themed track ahead of the tournament. Filmed as part of a large-scale production in Miami, the video shows Speed performing in stadium-style settings surrounded by national flags, colored powder, and strong Ghanaian cultural elements. He’s also seen throughout the video in Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal jersey.
Instead of following the polished formula of a typical tournament song, the track goes straight into a high-energy shoutout to the competing nations, built on a beat made for stadiums. The numbers were already speaking for themselves. Riding that wave, Speed made a public appeal for FIFA to name “Champions” the official World Cup anthem.
FIFA replied back, contacting Speed directly on X (formerly Twitter) to confirm his song was added to the official 2026 World Cup songs list, where it joins 17 other tracks on the album. Speaking of which, here’s the official list of songs for the FIFA 2026 World Cup:
