Kelly Cutrone is coming to the defense of Tyra Banks. The author and television personality had some harsh words for Jay Manuel and his treatment of the creator of America’s Next Top Model. Jay worked on the show alongside Tyra for the first 18 seasons.
Jay wrote a book called The Wig, The Bitch & The Meltdown, which many believe is a shot at Tyra. Kelly believes Jay treated Tyra poorly. She is accusing Jay of being deeply complicit and creating a toxic work environment.

Kelly is putting Jay on blast for his apparent past conduct. “I just think that whole thing was disgusting,” said Kelly about how Jay treated Tyra in her eyes. Speaking on the Chris vs the People podcast Kelly unloaded on the former AMTM judge saying, “That chick (Tyra) f*cking fed you, took care of you, raised you, and this is how you say thank you?”
Jay drew plenty of backlash for his attitude while working with Tyra on that show. Many former contestants and viewers believe Jay was too harsh on the show and difficult to be around.
In addition to her work as a publicist, Kelly was on The Hills years ago. She says that she will always “stand behind the truth.”
The relationship between Jay and Tyra eventually deteriorated to the point where the latter reportedly shut him out completely.
Jay wasn’t the only one to draw criticism for his alleged conduct on the show. Tyra got her share of public heat as a judge, with many believing she was a harsh critic too. The Netflix documentary Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model didn’t seem to help. It questions the treatment of contestants on the show. Kelly, though, believes that Tyra “got done dirty” with the documentary.
In February, Jay shared that his relationship with Tyra today was non-existent.
