Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie Face Backlash Over Royal Housing Perks

Life inside the royal bubble is once again under scrutiny; this time, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have found themselves at the center of the conversation. New reports claim the sisters have benefited from rent-free royal housing arrangements for years despite not serving as working members of the monarchy.

The controversy comes amid ongoing questions about the future of the Royal Family under the next generation of leadership. According to the Daily Mail, the daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have long enjoyed housing support that allegedly began under Queen Elizabeth.

Princess Beatrice, along with her sister Eugenie, is facing questions about free rent and royal duties

The reported arrangement has raised eyebrows because both sisters have established careers, successful spouses, and homes of their own outside royal residences.

While neither Princess Beatrice nor Princess Eugenie is believed to receive taxpayer-funded salaries as working royals, critics have questioned why housing privileges would continue when they no longer perform official duties on behalf of the Crown.

The issue reportedly extends beyond public criticism. As per the Daily Mail, Prince William is said to favor a streamlined monarchy that limits royal perks to family members who actively carry out public engagements.

The future king has long been associated with plans to modernize the institution and reduce the number of royals receiving official benefits. One source claimed William believes “working royals” should be the only family members receiving those advantages.

The debate has also been linked to the lingering fallout from Prince Andrew’s association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Although neither Beatrice nor Eugenie has been accused of any wrongdoing, reports suggest palace strategists remain cautious about anything that could reignite public discussion surrounding the York family.

Sources close to the Wales household reportedly claim both Prince William and Princess Kate view consistency as critical to maintaining public trust in the monarchy.

According to the report, their concern isn’t necessarily about the sisters personally. Instead, it centers on preserving a clear distinction between senior working royals and relatives who no longer hold official roles.
