They share six children, and their divorce was finalized in 2024. The “Salt” actor is close with her kids and always encourages them. However, Pitt is said to have “virtually no contact” with his adult children.

Angelina Jolie‘s daughter Zahara Marley Jolie has reportedly filed to have “Pitt” removed from her last name. In Touch was the first to report the news. PEOPLE obtained documents which revealed that Zahara filed a petition in the Superior Court of California for the name change.
Reports suggest Zahara filed the petition on April 28. Just a few days earlier, Maddox Jolie, the son of Pitt and Jolie, also petitioned to drop “Pitt” from his last name. Apart from Maddox and Zahara, Shiloh also filed to drop her father’s surname in 2024, shortly after turning 18.
Zahara had previously hinted at wanting the change. During her college graduation, when she went up to receive her diploma, her name was announced as “Zahara Marley Jolie.” Even in 2024, when she introduced herself as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., she didn’t use the name “Pitt.” In the clip she said, “My name is Zahara Marley Jolie. And [I] landed all the way from the Golden State in the city full of angels: Los Angeles, California.”
A source familar to Pitt said, “It’s sad to see someone repeatedly publicize their successful alienation of their children from the other parent.”
A source claims that Angelina Jolie is quite involved in her kids’ lives. Plus, she always encourages them to embrace their individualities. The source added, “She always loved their different personalities, interests and talents. She makes an effort to support what matters to each of them.”
However, when it comes to Brad Pitt, in 2024, a source shared with PEOPLE that he has “virtually no contact” with his adult children. The insider added, “[Angelina] has the kids most of the time, but per their agreement, he has visitation with the younger kids.”
