A crypto news page called Coinvo took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a post that suggested the 2028 presidential and vice presidential candidates. It claimed that Kamala Harris, alongside New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, would give a shot at coming into power in the U.S. However, the claims were eventually debunked, with the readers’ context part stating that the news is “false” and originated from a satirical website. Nonetheless, neither Harris nor AOC has confirmed any such news officially.
While this rumor seems to be fake, last year, Harris did express her interest in running for office. In a conversation with BBC’s Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, she stated she would give it another chance to become president after being defeated in 2024. The former VP clarified that she has yet to make a decision about her presidential run. Revealing that she still sees her future in politics, she added, “I am not done. I have lived my entire career as a life of service and it’s in my bones.”
Speaking about the odds placed against her, Harris added, “If I listened to polls I would have not run for my first office, or my second office — and I certainly wouldn’t be sitting here.” Moreover, she mentioned how her predictions about Trump eventually came true. “He said he would weaponise the Department of Justice – and he has done exactly that,” she said.
