Taylor Swift Had Tom Hanks Sign Her Childhood ‘Toy Story’ Memento

Taylor Swift had Tom Hanks autograph a Toy Story keepsake from her childhood. The exchange took place on the red carpet as Swift and Hanks reunited for the Toy Story 5 premiere. The pop sensation also promoted her original soundtrack song “I Knew It, I Knew You” at the release event.

Tom Hanks signs Taylor Swift’s ‘Toy Story’ VHS for her

In a report by People, Tom Hanks autographed Taylor Swift’s childhood Toy Story VHS, personalizing the tape she’d kept for years when they reunited on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. While the Blank Space hitmaker missed the main red carpet lineup, she did make an appearance to take photos with the cast, carrying an extra-special surprise in tow.

A photo from the moment captured the “Forrest Gump” actor looking genuinely moved by her request, her brow furrowed and her mouth agape. In another shot with the group, Swift clutched the VHS to her chest. Most of Hanks’ inscription was hidden by her hand, but the words “To infinity + beyond” were visible along the top right edge.

“I didn’t get a selfie, but I did sign her original VHS of the first Toy Story,” Hanks quipped. He also joked that she should’ve brought a VHS player too, so they could sign it together and donate it to the Smithsonian.

For the night, Taylor Swift chose something playful from Erdem Fall 2026 Ready-to-Wear. The dress had a worn denim feel, with silver crystals lining the neckline, bust, and hem, and two oversized bows tied at her arms. The skirt used aged-looking fabric, ruched at the waist for a patchwork effect, while loose threads trailed from the hem to lend it a distressed aesthetic.

She paired the dress with a pendant necklace and sparkling earrings, styling her hair in a half-updo. Swift completed the look with her iconic red lip and winged liner. Swift later changed into a yellow gown with a jeweled V-neck, sat at a grand piano, and debuted her latest single live for the audience.
