Ben Stiller & Wife Had a Wild Reaction to Knicks’ Game 3 Loss

Ben Stiller and his wife had a strong response to the New York Knicks’ Game 3 defeat in the ongoing NBA Finals. The Knicks saw their 13-game post-season winning streak end with an 115-111 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. The defeat cut their NBA Finals series lead in half, leaving it at 2-1. While the Knicks managed to bounce back in Game 4, Stiller’s response to Game 3 has drawn attention online.

Ben Stiller has pulled back the curtain on his dramatic response to the New York Knicks’ Game 3 loss.

The Zoolander star revealed that superstition runs deep with him and his wife, Christine Taylor. The die-hard Knicks fan said that he and Taylor “burned” the outfits they wore to Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

“My wife Christine and I came home after the last game and burned the clothes we were wearing,” Stiller told ESPN’s NBA Tip-Off on Wednesday, June 10. “I’m never wearing that stupid Finals shirt that I was wearing; that was awful, and the jeans. She had some bracelets that got thrown away. Yeah, it’s just you wipe it clean.”

Stiller said that he kept one item of clothing since he’d had good luck with it, but tossed “everything else.” “You start fresh,” he explained.

The reveal posted on the NBA Base X (formerly Twitter) account sparked a flood of reactions from fans.

“Totally normal behavior,” joked an X user. “Rich people problems, how fucking wasteful,” bashed another. “It highkey worked lmao,” noted a supporter, referring to the Knicks’ biggest comeback in NBA Finals history during Wednesday’s Game 4.

The New York Knicks edged the Spurs 107-106 in Game 4, erasing a 29-point hole to grab a 3-1 series advantage.

Celebrities packed Madison Square Garden for Game 4 of the 2026 Finals. Taylor Swift sat with Alana and Este Haim. Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, and Nas were there too. Chalamet arrived with Kylie Jenner and was joined by Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Mariska Hargitay, Tracy Morgan, Chris Rock, Michael J. Fox, Larry David, Jerry Seinfeld, and Jimmy Fallon, among others.
