Megyn Kelly Questions Taylor Swift’s Loyalty After Knicks Appearance

Taylor Swift’s courtside appearance at Game 4 of the NBA Finals generated plenty of headlines, but it also drew criticism from commentator Megyn Kelly. The media personality questioned the pop icon’s loyalty to the New York Knicks after spotting her cheering from Madison Square Garden just weeks after attending a game involving a rival team.

Megyn Kelly slams Taylor Swift for ‘pretending to be a Knicks fan’

The “Love Story” hitmaker was among the celebrities who packed Madison Square Garden on June 11 as the New York Knicks edged out the San Antonio Spurs in a thrilling 107-106 victory.

Taylor Swift’s appearance quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the night, with cameras frequently cutting to the Grammy winner throughout the game. However, not everyone bought into her apparent enthusiasm for the New York Knicks.

During a recent episode of The Megyn Kelly Show, the eponymous host criticized the Grammy winner and accused her of jumping on the Knicks bandwagon during the team’s Finals run. Megyn Kelly accused Swift of “pretending to be a New York Knicks fan.” Moreover, she mocked the singer by saying, “Oh yeah, here I am, I’m so excited. Oh, the Knicks!”

Kelly then pointed to what she viewed as evidence, arguing that the “Bad Blood” crooner had recently attended a Knicks–Cavaliers game with Travis Kelce. There, she reportedly appeared to support the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kelly claimed, “She was there with him. They were rooting for the Cavs.” She went on to call Swift a “fake Knicks fan” and a “fake person.”

Notably, Taylor Swift and her fiancé attended Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals on May 23. Kelce, a Cleveland native, embraced his hometown roots by wearing Cavaliers gear. He was also openly cheering for the team throughout the game.

Swift, however, kept a lower profile and did not publicly support either side. Even so, Megyn Kelly cited that appearance as evidence for her claim that the 36-year-old’s Knicks fandom may not be as genuine as it appeared during the Finals matchup. Meanwhile, Swift has not yet responded to the Fox News alumna’s accusations.
