Donald Trump reportedly garnered massive attention when he was spotted with a bruise on his left hand during the G7 summit. With both his hands, he made a thumbs-up gesture, but his left hand had a crescent moon-shaped mark.
This is the first time the specific bruise was spotted, as previously, the president had raised eyebrows for his scarred right hand, which he often covers with makeup. Prior to this, Trump was also spotted with bulging cankles when he conversed with Qatar’s Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. As the duo discussed cooperation between the two countries, the POTUS also sounded a bit rough.
Trump has repeatedly sparked health speculation, including over bruises on his hands and occasional bouts of drowsiness. However, back in May, the White House released a statement to give an update on his health. Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, said in a memo, “President Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function.” He also added that the president is “fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State” (via Reuters).
The latest update comes after his visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center was closely monitored as concerns around his health have continued to emerge in recent years. Earlier, the White House addressed the bruising on his right hand vaguely, instead focusing on kind words for the president.
