Sutton Brown can’t escape chatter about her past drinking habits. Her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star, Bozoma Saint John, recently opened up about Sutton. And she alleged that Sutton’s relationship with alcohol led to some of her personal woes. That is a big statement.

As you may recall, during RHOBH Season 13, Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley discussed how Sutton may have a problem with alcohol. Dorit picked up that mantle the following season, slamming Sutton for her bad behavior.
Meanwhile, during the RHOBH Season 14 reunion, Sutton’s bestie, Garcelle Beauvais, stormed offstage and quit the show. Garcelle was upset when Sutton failed to have her back during the heated reunion. Plus, it spelled the end of their close friendship.
“I struggle with it still. You know, it’s just so sad,” Sutton admitted. “It’s like a death.”
Recently, Boz discussed her Beverly Hills co-stars on The Jason Lee Show. According to Boz, Sutton “used to be a sipper,” but subsequently “cut it out.”
She continued, “I think that was part of the whole issue that she had, and even with, like, her friendship with Garcelle, I think that’s what happens. I think it was affecting a lot of things.” Boz added, “She lost a lot of friends, like personal, real friends in her life.”
Could Boz be referencing Sutton’s long-suffering assistant, Avi Gabay? When RHOBH Season 15 premiered, fans were shocked to learn that Sutton had fired her friend. “Avi and I had a great run,” Sutton later explained. “But things come to an end. It was just a business decision for me.”
As for Garcelle’s departure? “I believe it was fundamentally the breakdown of her friendship with Sutton,” Boz stated. “I think that’s really what happened. I think it hurt her so much.”
