Millie Bobby Brown Claps Back at ‘Vicious’ Mom-Shaming After Adopting Baby

Millie Bobby Brown recently defended motherhood against “vicious” mom-shamers. The 22-year-old adopted a baby girl with her husband, Jake Bongiovi, last year. While the couple has kept their little one’s face and name private, they often share glimpses into their journey as new parents.

Millie Bobby Brown opens up about mom-shaming after adopting baby daughter

Millie Bobby Brown, who is currently promoting “Enola Holmes 3,” appeared on the June 11 episode of Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast. During the interview, the “Stranger Things” star opened up about navigating motherhood. At one point, the topic of mom-shaming came up, and she wasted no time in calling out the critics.

“This is vicious,” Brown said. “Like you are vicious and I don’t have time for angry women that just need to feel like they need to bring you down. Especially when it comes to motherhood. I’ve never experienced anything like this.”

Furthermore, she explained, “But when you’re like, ‘You didn’t put a hat on your baby?’ And I’m like, ‘Try putting a hat on my baby. Come on. I dare you. Put a beanie on her. Put a beanie on her…Just stay in your own lane. Put a hat on your baby and put a sock in your mouth.'”

The actress also shared that she has mostly found such critics online. She said, “I feel like I’ve dealt with it mostly online, but when I do experience it in person, a lot of people will say things, like they’ll be like, ‘Oh, that’s a really big piece. Are you going to let her eat that?’ And I’m like, yeah, I know what my baby can eat and what she can’t. You know, I will draw the line where I feel it is necessary, and I think it’s very important.”

Brown revealed that her parents and in-laws do not offer unsolicited advice. Instead, they praise her when she does something well as a mother. She shared that she appreciates the “validation.”
