Fans are getting a front row seat to Thais Ramone’s recent arrest. The 90 Day Fiancé star was detained in May on a domestic battery charge, with the arrest captured on video. This follows an alleged incident involving her and her estranged husband, Patrick Mendes.
Patrick had reported an apparent domestic violence incident involving Thais. He alleges that she slapped him in the face during a heated argument. This reportedly came mere days after Patrick served her divorce papers.
According to Patrick, he went to her home to give their daughter, Alessi, a chance to say goodbye before Thais was to go to Brazil. Thais previously launched a swimwear line called Thais Ramone Brazilian Swimwear.
What the Thais Ramone arrest bodycam footage shows
Cops did their best to piece together exactly what transpired between Thais and Patrick before taking action. In the bodycam police footage obtained by TMZ, officers are interviewing both Patrick and Thais separately.
Patrick states that an argument between him and Thais got intense over his presence in the home, prompting her to hit him with an open hand, allegedly. Police had previously documented visible marks on Patrick’s face, which they felt were consistent with his version of events.
According to Thais, Patrick had been “controlling” during their relationship, but insists that her slap was in self-defense. After hearing statements from each of them, it was determined that the police had probable cause to arrest Thais for domestic battery. We can hear the police informing her of the arrest in the video.
The estranged couple are in the middle of divorce proceedings. Previously, a representative for Thais told TMZ that situations like hers and Patrick’s divorce are rarely cut-and-dry. He added that Thais “has no interest in escalating negativity publicly.” A couple of days after her arrest, TMZ learned that the charges against her were dropped.
Patrick and Thais tied the knot in February 2022. In late May of this year, Patrick filed for sole custody of their three-year-old girl.
