Matt Damon used a Trojan horse to combat Jimmy Kimmel’s show to mock the host. Towards the end of Kimmel’s monologue on Thursday, he received a special delivery: a horse. The 58-year-old host denied having ordered a horse, and eventually it was revealed that Damon was hiding in the horse. Drawing inspiration from the classical tale of the Trojan horse, the actor thus used the horse to ambush Kimmel on his show.
Matt Damon launches an attack on Jimmy Kimmel’s show with a Trojan horse
Matt Damon hid inside a Trojan horse to launch an attack on Jimmy Kimmel’s show. As usual, Kimmel was delivering his monologue on June 18 when fans suddenly heard a horse neighing. The host received a special delivery from UPS: a giant horse and a baby horse.
A confused Kimmel exclaimed, “I didn’t order a horse! I didn’t order either of those!” Despite his protests, the delivery guy got the baby horse on set. All of a sudden, the horse split into halves to reveal The Odyssey star Matt Damon in a classy suit. Kimmel retorted, “I don’t want the horse in here.” However, Damon interjected by saying, “The horse is here and there’s no takebacks, b***h! I did it! I am here, baby! I have traveled far and wide, through waves and war, to save this audience from mediocrity.”
The host protested: “What is this? This is trespassing! This is another crime you’ve committed here!” To which, The Rip star replied, “Your face is a crime.” Kimmel asked how long he had “been hiding in the horse for this.” Instead, the 55-year-old actor asked, “Did the Knicks win?” Kimmel urged him to leave so he could catch the parade in New York City.
Damon finally came to the point and spoke about the real reason he was on the show: to promote his upcoming movie, The Odyssey, where he plays the Greek hero and King of Ithaca, Odysseus. The actor said, “What does it look like, dumb**s? I’m on your show. I’m promoting a new movie. It’s coming out July 17… It is called ‘The Odyssey.’ It’s based on a book, so you probably don’t know about it.” Their sarcastic back and forth continued as the studio audience continued to laugh.
