Actress Christina Ricci and Jimmy Fallon Clash Over Guest Choice

Christina Ricci has joined the growing backlash surrounding Jimmy Fallon’s recent interview with Conor McGregor. The actress publicly criticized the late-night host after McGregor’s appearance on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” reignited debate over who gets a platform in mainstream entertainment.

Ricci didn’t issue a lengthy statement of her own, but a single Instagram repost was enough to spark fresh conversation. The “Wednesday” and “Yellowjackets” star shared a post condemning Fallon for welcoming the former UFC champion onto his show despite the controversy surrounding him.

The post Ricci shared directly called out Fallon, stating, “Shame on you, Jimmy, for platforming this human garbage.” It also added, “We need to stop pretending like rape is OK.”

The criticism stems from McGregor’s recent appearance on the NBC late-night show, where he discussed his career comeback and upcoming plans. During the interview, Fallon referred to him as “my man” and “one of the best MMA fighters in the world,” while the pair also joked about previously going out drinking together.

For critics, the issue wasn’t simply that Conor McGregor appeared on television. Instead, many argued that the segment treated him like any other celebrity guest, despite the legal controversy attached to his name.

In November 2024, McGregor was found liable in a civil case brought by Nikita Hand, who accused him of raping her in a Dublin hotel in 2018. A jury ruled in Hand’s favor and awarded her €248,603 in damages. McGregor has consistently denied the allegations, maintained the encounter was consensual, and later had an appeal dismissed.

Following the ruling, Hand addressed supporters outside court and said, “To every survivor out there, I know how hard it is, but please don’t be silent.”

Ricci’s repost reflects a wider frustration among viewers who believe public figures facing serious allegations or adverse court findings should not receive what appears to be a routine celebrity welcome-back tour.
