Jax Taylor, the infamous bad boy of Vanderpump Rules, seemed like he finally might be maturing. He and his wife, Brittany Cartwright, welcomed a son, Cruz, in 2021. Later, the couple appeared on Bravo’s The Valley with their circle of friends. However, it was clear that the marriage was in trouble. Jax entered rehab during the second season of the show. He decided to address his substance abuse and mental health issues after flipping a coffee table, which struck Brittany’s knee.
Unfortunately, instead of taking some time for healing and reflection, Jax continued his awful behavior towards his wife. He rage-texted her from rehab and spied on her through their home cameras. Once he left rehab, he accused her of not letting him see their son.
Finally, Brittany filed for divorce, and Jax exited The Valley ahead of Season 3 to focus on his mental health. However, he continued to play the victim, refusing to take accountability for his poor choices.
Jax Taylor blamed ex Brittany Cartwright after a fake brand partnership
Recently, Jax shared a photo, posing with a bottle of Smartwater. He falsely believed that he was involved in a brand partnership. Oops! “A few weeks ago, I accepted what I believed was a legitimate campaign opportunity through a third party influencer platform, like many creators use,” Jax shared via an Instagram post. “As soon as I was notified that the campaign was unauthorized, I removed the content immediately.”
In a move that shocked no one, Brittany discussed Jax’s latest misstep on her podcast, When Reality Hits. She received a DM from the company, informing her that Jax was not approached to work with Smartwater. “You faked a brand partnership so that people will think you have a brand deal because you know your image is that bad …,” she stated. “That is embarrassing.”
Well, naturally, Jax tried to turn the blame on Brittany. “Instead of reaching out privately to address the situation, she chose to contact the brand, laugh about it on her podcast, and post false accusations on social media, turning something that could have been handled privately into a public spectacle,” Jax told US Weekly. In this situation, Jax has no one to blame but himself.

It has been a long, messy two years as the former couple tried to finalize their divorce. “During that time, I’ve worked incredibly hard on my sobriety, my mental health, and becoming the best father I can be,” Jax stated. He reportedly “stayed silent for the past year” for the sake of their son, Cruz.
However, he called out his ex for allegedly ruining some potential job possibilities. “Every time I’ve been presented with an opportunity to rebuild my career, those opportunities have been interfered with by Brittany. She has contacted networks and brand opportunities I had secured, resulting in jobs being jeopardized or lost,” Jax claimed.
“I was set to film this season of Special Forces: [World’s Toughest Test] and after all the paperwork [was] completed, taking multiple vaccines and my uniform in hand, the offer was retracted days prior to me leaving,” the Pump Rules alum stated. “I came to find out that Brittany contacted them and once again interfered with an amazing job opportunity that would have helped me move forward.”
Jax’s claim doesn’t seem likely, as Brittany quit Season 4 of Special Forces during the premiere. How could she possibly have any pull with casting? Accusing Brittany was a prime example of Jax falling back into his old behaviors.

Meanwhile, Jax moved on with Lori Krebs, his publicist. Lori was also Brittany’s publicist, and the two reportedly shared a bond. Instead of letting his ex know about his new romance, Brittany found out when she saw photos of the couple in Puerto Vallarta.
Brittany allegedly felt blindsided by Jax’s latest antics, and she cut ties professionally with Lori. In a screenshot shared on Reddit, a fan commented, “You’re really preaching about being respectful because you have a kid, when last week [you were] photographed with one of her closest friends? Please.”
Naturally, Jax responded to the remark and managed to toss Brittany under the bus. “That’s another lie by Brittany. They haven’t been close barely talked in last year and a half and Brittany was never a friend to Lori that is a lie among many others which are about to come out,” Jax wrote.
Once again, Jax refused to accept accountability for dating Brittany’s publicist and supposed friend behind her back. If there were an award for deflecting, Jax would be writing his acceptance speech right now. I am always here for a redemption story, but first, the person has to take responsibility. And Jax seemingly isn’t at that point.
